Free Camping Guides?

Anyone know of any good free camping guides/magazines or web sites?

Guides are good because you can read them on the road but they go out of date. Web sites are good because they can be kept up to date, but you can't read them on the road.

Thanks in advance.

WikiCamps smartphone app. Best of both worlds. It is low cost. Automatic updates available when you have phone access.

Camps Australia Wide app but it is reasonably expensive (about the same as buying a new printed version every 2 years) but is updated when you have phone access.

Hover your cursor over "Places" in the blue bar across the top of the page. You will then see "Find camps and caravan parks".
Camps Australia is the bible for free or low cost camps and there are numerous other guides, some of them state based. Just be aware that in more populated areas free camp areas can be packed.

Adding to the ExplorOz Places system you can also use the mobile version at http://m.exploroz.com/Places/Camps_n_Accom.aspx which also has a button to show places near you.

A lot of our visitors swear by their Ipads, Iphones and the wikicamps ap. Those phones and Ipads are incedible! Work in lots of places that other phones won't even look at. Cheers Toni

If ever there was an arguement for a sticky on this forum, this question would be on the top of my list ... gets asked about twice a week.
