I have been looking for a turbo off a Surf 2L to go on my 2.8 hilux. A turbo off a 5L 3 litre has come my way, will it fit on my 3L motor or keep looking?
cheers

short answer is yes it will go OK using a surf manifold you have to move the stud but 5L to 3L should be good,,,,only go in half a turn at most on your injector pump for the turbo and if thers too much black smoke back it out 1/32 of a turn at a time until your happy with it.

they will all fit but the surf one has to have studs moved,,,you will know what I mean when you compare,,, no big deal almost straight swap.

thanks for that, I was aware about moving the stud on the manifold. All the info I have found only refers to using the turbo off the 2L engine wasn't sure about using a 5L turbo. Thanks for the info

I ran 7lbs on my 2.8 which would spike for an instant to 9lb when you hit it then drop to 7lbs for WOT and it was problem free,,, beware of over boosting or over fuelling
