Hi All,
We are doing the big loop from Brisbane to Darwin (via many detours including Nhulunbuy), then to the Kimberley then down the coast of WA as far as Carnarvon. We then want to come back to Brisbane via Alice Springs.
Any suggestion of how to get to Alice from Carnarvon? I know this is pretty open but just looking for ideas. Originally thought the gun barrel but we are only 1 vehicle.
Rob.

We did the Gunbarrell in 2010 with our 19' Bushtracker also a single vehicle trip. Single vehicle is OK if well maintained and prepared and you have either sat phone of HF. Water was available at three of the four bores equipped with handpumps when we went through.

Corros are bad but drop our tyre pressures and take it easy - smell the roses etc. Magic trip.

If you want to head a bit further north again, the Gary Junction from Marble Bar to Alice Springs is a lovely drive and the road less used so less corrugated than roads like the Great Central or Tanami. See My Blog from 2009.
