G'day All
We are planning a visit to
Coongie Lakes in early July on our return from
Birdsville. I would appreciate an indication from any travellers who have visited the area recently as to the current water levels in the lakes, the state of the & the condition of the track into the lakes from
Innamincka.
Thanks in anticipation.
Graham

Graham, according to environment.sa.gov.au "
Coongie Lakes National Park has reopened. After being closed due to floodwaters, the floodplains north of Kudriemitchie have finally dried out". When I was in
Innamincka at
Easter, the park was still closed and some locals told me the track is often closed so best if you
check the road reports close to your travelling date. Good luck.

Graham, we were there a few weeks ago & all was good. The road in is fine & there is still plenty of water & birdlife in the Lakes. The Cooper has stopped flowing over the causeway at Innaminka in the last few weeks also.
A beautiful part of Australia..have been there a number of times & never tire of it.
Have fun
Cheers

Acc. to this site as of June 1 the track was closed.
The Desert Parks Bulletin dated May 21 had it open to 4WD.
Best to ring the Innmincka Trading Post.
