Yes the mysterious lassiters reef - was supposed to be on the Western side of the MacDonald ranges - unfortunately not going to get over that far to chase the dream.
Heading from Melbourne up through Flinders ranges Leigh Creek / Maree then up to Birdsville before crossing into the desert and chucking a right up the Hay river to Jervois then looping back around through Alice then Mt Dare / Dalhousie /William creek etc before heading home.
Just wondering if anyone had tried their luck in those regions and had some success?

I have a cheap and nasty detector that works ok for jewellery etc in beach sand but have been eying off a decent unit from Miners den - Minelab unit which I have heard are very very good in the ore rich sands/rock.

Cheers
Wally

If you've time, get off the main road going through the Flinders Range. It is a magnificent part of Aus, colors, scenery, rock formations, interesting roads, lovely people, great camp sites, and that's just for starters!
