Good morning all you happy travellers, I am two weeks out from heading of across the GCR, the plenty and Donahue to Brisbane, now I know some of you have already done this trip, and my research over the last 12 months has been extensive
what I would like to know is what paper maps do people fine useful for this trip, I have a good Garmin and also the one in the pathfinder is also very good now that it has been updated to take in country Australia, I also have maps for the lap top, but what I really need is some advice on the paper maps for the area that I shall be going through.
thank you

Hi Broodie,

My recommendation for the GCR would be an Outback Travellers Guide. These are stripmaps in booklet form, and will give you information on landmarks, fuel-food-water, camping & accommodation & more:

Great Central Road Outback Travellers Guide

The Plenty Highway is covered in detail in the Plenty and Sandover Highways Westprint Map

And for the final leg I would recommend the Hema Queensland's Outback Map
