G'day gang,

Has anyone out there either heard of, or preferably have first hand experience of, shockies made by "Cross Country"?

They look well made and the literature says all the right things - for what that's worth, but I haven't heard of them before.

I believe they are made at the Monroe plant and rebadged there.

Any experiences would be great, thanks.
Cheers, Jim

G'day.
Cross country are sold by ARB as a cheaper alternative to OME, so maybe if they're made in the dame place as Diamond sez, they are the same??
Cheers,
Alex

Hi Jimbo,

They are Foam Cell and are the same specs as Tough Dog. Both made by Gabriel.

I have used them on GQ and GU Patrol for many km's (including a Cape trip) and have nothing to complain about.

Tough Dog will tell you they are valved differently, but I doubt this. (I currently am using Tough Dog).

If ARB are offering them as a cheaper alternative, I would use them in preference to their OME any day.

They are imported into Brisbane. Contact Phone 07 3256 8222.

Gordon

Thanks guys for the responses.

I haven't seen them at ARB but at K&N 4WD in Perth who I am going to for a long range (120 lt) tank for my 'Lux.

They certainly looked solid and well built and after a bit of net exploring I see that quite a few places use and recommend them - particularly in Qld.

Anyway, thanks again - I think I'll try them out. Cheers, Jim

The are only two Australian made shocks available in Australia.

1. The Munroe Gas Magnum
2. The Old Man Emu Nitrocharger Shock Range

Everything else is imported and many being rebaged versions of the same shock i.e. the Cofab or stanard Gabriel shocks are available thru many different Suspension suppliers.

The only people who make a shock that has been valved, designed and tested for Australia is OME. Yes they do not manufacturer them but are built by munroe to OME specs.
