Anybody know of a good workshop in the Brissie area to work on my old cruiser? Its mainly cosmetic things that need attention. New mudflaps, the sidesteps rattle, wheel flares need replacing, electric windows need attention, main fuel guage not working, a mystery when a fuse blows and I lose all the dash instruments and sometimes the aircon too, stuff like that. I live a long way from Bris but am going to be there in mid July and as I don't know of any businesses doing this sort of thing I thought this would be a great place to ask. Also I don't mind if any second hand parts are used. There must be somebody who likes making the cars look good again! Thanks Toni

I use AVR Automotive and have found them very good. They are located at 1/18 Hinkler Court, Brendale 4500. Ph 1300880980. Give the owner, Paul a ring and you will find him very helpful. He loves Toyota 4X4's.
Brendale is on the northside of Brisbane near Strathpine.

Regards

Mick

Thanks for your reply Michael. I wonder if there is anyone else that knows of a good someone or are they hiding their light under the bonnet? I'm going to be based at Acacia Ridge so a fair hike to Strathpine. But then again after I've driven 1200 kms to get there - what's a drive across town? Cheers Toni

I've rung this bloke and he sounds good, so I have booked the car in with him. He wanted to know how I found out about him, told him Exploroz. He had never heard of it. Anyway thanks!

I have used and known
Springwood Mechanical Services for many years.
The owner Mark is very qualified and honest and definitely wont rip you off.
By the way my 4x4 is in his workshop right now to have a problem fixed.
Only charges about 60 $$ an hour and his pencilis not sharp.

Toni,

Some years back we had some work done on our 80 series wagon at Motorcare. From memory the charges were reasonable, and the items fitted were what we wanted.

Motorcare
163 Abbotsford Rd.
Bowen Hills.

They also have a website, with plenty of good reading. www.motorcare.com.au

Can't remember most of it.
