Just been listening to the ABC radio 'conversation' program. Dr Darryl Lewis who has written a book about Ludwig's failed expedition. Very interesting topic and they also touched on Dr lewis's own time in the outback during the 1970's. Well worth a listen on the download for those who missed it.

There are copies of the original notes written by Leichardt in some libraries.

It is quite easy to follow his journey through Queensland and The Territory if you have the right maps.

"The Readers Digest Topographical Maps of Australia" are probably the best for this puppose and are now only available as used copies in S.H. Bookshops.

These are large Coffee Coloured Books and include Lat. and Long. for each page.

Used in conjunction with Google Earth they are very accurate.

Copies of Cunninghams journey to Queensland from Maitland in 1828 ??? I think, are also available.

Good reading.

Have fun Haji-Baba.
