No...not him....Oldbaz & the childbride have returned from a little drive across Oz.
Track included Bourke..Wanaaring..Tibooburra..Innimincka..Birdsville..Donohue & Plenty Hwy's..GCR..Newman..Karijini..Karratha..Exmouth..all south to Freo & home.
A lot of good dirt, & some bad, some even very baaaad, but we survived it all.
The Jack performed faultlessly & the little Gazal van took all we threw at it.
I wont bore you with a lot of nonsense..just a few observations..
Time spent "airing up & down"...none...38 psi all round.
Tyre issues...none.
Distance travelled with hubs in.....none.
Highlights..Karijini & Rainbow Valley (S of Alice)..Kalbarri canoeing.
Lowlights..$54 for a powered dirt site at Monkey Mia, but dolphin thing is magic.
solution..stay at Denham.
Fuel from $1.36 to $2.35..petrol.

Had a ball , but must admit the dirt became a tad tiresome, but we filled in some
important gaps in our Oz touring map.
Ooops, its beer oclock, must be off....:)))))).....oldbaz.

Baz, stop, you're making me jealous.

We're off to The Kimberley in late August ourselves, but we still have a few gaps in the map as you said. Great to hear you enjoyed yourselves.

Planning the next trip yet, or waiting until Monday back in the office :)

Nice work.

Yeah, the dirt can get tiring.

Can't have been hard core if you didn't do a windscreen ;-)

Thanks for posting.

HI oldbaz. Have been watching for a post that would announce that you are back. Glad to hear that you made it safely. Congrats on the achievement.
Thanks again for your hospitality on our way south. Much appreciated. Say hi to clildbride for us. We came home a bit early and didn't get to do the corner country. Combination of ongoing problem with the knee that Ruth damaged on the day of our departure from home and very cold and wet weather. We will have to try another time.
Cheers,
Kevin

Good to hear your trip report and vehicles went well and that you are home safely.

Sorry we missed you. We are currently overnighting in a 24 hour rest area south of Fortescue river roadhouse on the NW Coastal highway yet to see Millstream Chichester and any places north. The rest area is getting busier by the minute....not our favourite type of place but necessary for tonight!

Sorry we missed you.

Believe it or not, I think I have the driver enjoying those places on the dirt as much as I do these days, and he's prepared for any road conditions. Both van and Pajero going well but wind on the coast is not fishing friendly anywhere we have been. Love those places away from the coast so much.

cheers,
Heather
