Any comments on the Belyando Crossing van park? We were considering staying there on our way to Charters Towers from Emerald in the next coupla days (in our 17' van), and have just read a few 'not so' flattering comments on I/net the other night about it....??

Hi MortnRich, Badger's Caravan Park reports are usually reliable, we always check there when going somewhere new. Belyando is reported here:

Badgers Park reports

Hope that works, take into account the date of the report, this one a couple of years old,
Enjoy your trip,

Interesting comments. Beats me how anyone would expect to have a fresh water supply in a place like that and that they would arrive needing it. Perhaps not much experience of the outback.
Cheers,

Hi, Belyando Crossing looks clean & tidy but can't say what it is like to stay there as we always go on to the rest area about 60 km on. Composting toilets & tables but nothing else. Pull around the back & you're away from the road noise. Used to use the area at Cape R. but the cattle road trains use it & gets very noisy & smelly. Bill

Stayed there a couple of years back. Not much to get excited about either way. It's just an overnight stop. Nothing to worry or get excited about. You're not staying for 4 weeks are you? Power and amenities on a pretty barren stretch. Use it.

As above. Stayed there on a lightning run to Townsville recently. Pretty decent Roadhouse-quality food, cold beers and clean amenities. Just what you need after 1000ks behind the wheel......

Stopped there a few weeks ago, some of the group stayed overnight, big fire and enjoyed themselves. We decided to drive on to Charters Towers.

I also though $4 for a cup of instant coffee was a bit rich. One girl only wanted a cup of hot water $2.

The reports on Badgers site are a little old. How about some of you that have stayed there submitting a new one.?
