I visited here in June 2013.
I entered the site from the West, through a single closed (but not locked)
gate. A new-looking National Parks sign was at the 'entrance'. I drove a few km East on a single-track trail, then ran out of time and returned. 4WD not really required, but the trail was quite rocky. Interestingly, I drove over a remote traffic counter or camera switch (thick black cable lying on the road). Not sure if it did anything, but it was concealed in the trees and rocks.
More exploring necessary.
