Good morning
I am looking at travelling to Fraser Island from River Heads near
Hervey Bay with my Nevara 550 towing a
Kimberley Karavan (not a camper trailer) around mid September. Can somebody please give me the heads up as to the conditions and possibiities.
Cheers
POB

Unless you have really good backup I would leave the van on the mainland and tent it. Lightweight campers are fine to tow around on the Island but the van, not quite sure I would take one..
Cheers

dont forget the large cost of the barge for the xtra trailer on the back of the ute..
gets bloody dear..
tent looks pretty good to me..
you wont need to top up the fuel tanks on the island with the less weight..
saving you big bucks too...
and others putting their noses up at you on the inland tracks, holding up traffic...
ha ha

No probs at all.....just stick to
the beach areas ( I wouldn't tow it thru the inland tracks ).....only hit
the beach on low tide....lower your tyres....and keep up momentum when hitting any soft looking sand..
Have seen very large vans, boats and trucks up there , so yours won't be a problem ......enjoy !!

Sorry, reread your post.....I would only go via Inskip with a van like yours ....not the other side of the island !!
