It will be interesting to see how Curiosity copes with the Mars Sand Dunes , I think it is 6 wheel drive, wide wheels and light , it might be ok.
I don't know how big the dunes are , has anyone been for a look.

G'day Doug, nah the dunes are fairly tame, Curiosity should handle it fine.
It is 7' tall or so, but with the wide track wheelbase, again should be no problems.
It's been a few year since I traversed near to the route Curiosity will take, and with the vehicle oxygen supply running low, had to cut short that trip or the motor would have stopped running with no combustion possible.
As it was I needed to boost the water injection a bit to give it some more power in several
places.
Now next years plan to climb Olympus Mons will be interesting, at 22000m or so, it makes Everest look pretty tame.
If anyone would like to tag along, maybe having another vehicle along to base
camp will be nice for company.

No need to tag along, just get "Beamed up by Scotty", saves a lot of fuel and you aren't tired from the journey. Iv'e seen it done on TV.
