Hi All,

I have the opportunity to holiday in Urangan (Hervey Bay) QLD.

To help me figure out how to plan my trip, could people advise me on the following;

- Are there beaches close by which are safe for swimming?
- What months of the year are comfortable temperatures for swimming and camping?

All advice and assistance greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks
Detailed.

The beaches are very close and very safe ( no surf, protected by fraser island).
The weather is brilliant most of the year. Even better it is just a shrt trip to fraser.

Hi Detailed,

Just remember that hoardes of southerners head to Queensland for the duration of their chilly winter, so many places north of the NSW/Qld are full to overflowing. Wherever you choose, it might be a good idea to book ahead to avoid disappointment.

Believe me, there are ruddy thousands of 'em!!!

Well.

I live in Hervey Bay so will now put on my expert hat.

The beaches here are very safe.

People swim here all year round.

While Hervey Bay can get crowded during holidays (crowded, that is by local standards) it's a pretty big place (spread out) so never seems crowded.

Where were you looking at staying??
