Has anybody camped at the council run caravan park at
mission beach, if so will they take big rigs.Tried to contact them but it goes to the council chambers and the people there didnt know what a big rig was.

I have camped there twice and love it! Big rig? Maybe, but think you'd be better off over the road. Much more money and no absolute beach front though. You can't prebook the council park so why not just turn up and make your own assessment?

I agree, had a look last year and there were a couple of sites I would/could have used but we were only there for a day trip. I would have a look next time with the van.

I lived at the Caravan park at
El Arish for a while, it was not all that far from
Mission Beach and one didn't have back packers and seasonal workers hanging around.
