We're currently staying at Barnhill Station Stay WA. Yesterday afternoon, we had a Wicked van and two others come into the unpowered section. Most conspicuous as they drove through at some speed. Like a lot of new arrivals they headed straight for the "solar" showers where it was clear they were not English speaking, and then disappeared from the
camp. So no hot water for the genuine campers!
Tales around the washing machine this morning is about similar group of travellers down the coast in a fuel stop. They used the facility to set the value of the fuel they wanted, filled up and then went into pay. In the example quoted they took $50 of fuel and presented a $50 note for payment. When the person behind the counter said "that'll be $50 thanks" the traveller started to argue that he had only asked for $30 of fuel. So the argument went on for some while until the counter person threatened the traveller with the police, and the travelling group left.
Not very nice people, like the Germans on TV a while back who were taking showers in a caravan park without being paid-up visitors.

I volunteer for a local "Driver Reviver" sometimes, now there is somewhere to get an education on how cheap people can be and they're not in Wicked vans.
Seen people come in in their $200,000 rigs and demand coffee for all the occupants of the car (cause they're ALL drivers) and not leave a penny donation. Others get really mad when they discover that we don't make cappachinos to order for free.
Often its the people in the ordinary Falcon with the ordinary poptop who appreciate the service and leave a nice donation, those people pleasure to meet and serve.

My Brother and I have just arrived back from Queensland last night after 10000 odd klms, and yes we did use the driver reviver a few times and on each occasion, we left a small donation, and for all the volunteers we met along the way a great big thank you for your hospitality and courtesy, we really did meet some very interesting people at the stations. Thank you.

Easy to sort that one out next time Lyn W3, just give them one cup of coffee with 3 or 4 straws, then all the drivers will get some coffee.
