I have conducted a Search and only found a couple of outdated entries for my query.
I noted on a recent post that some were suggesting not to take a van on the
Birdsville Track if they wanted it to resemble their 'pre
Birdsville' van.
We were planning on travelling south on the Eyre Developmental into
Birdsville in Sept - towing a Jayco Outback 18'6" Discovery poptop with a Pajero. Is the Eyre Developmental in the same category as the
Birdsville in terms of harshness? I do understand that conditions vary but in 'general' terms.
Has anyone towed a van on the Eyre Developmental in the last few months?

Don't know if this is of any help to you: last time I driven the Eyre dev. rd was in 2008 and I did the stretch from
Birdsville north towards
Bedourie. That was a fairly good graded dirt road and very similar if not the same to the main
Birdsville track. There was normal traffic including 4X4 towing (same as any other main track overthere). If the road report say it's open I would go without worrying about it.
This is a clip I did on the Eyre dev rd back then.
