This show rate well apparently, this is from the 4wd association.

Folks,

Many of you would be aware of the recent demise of our Saturday morning Four Wheel Drive Radio Show on 3AK! Therefore we take great pleasure in advising of our new FOUR WHEEL DRIVE RADIO SHOW on Community Radio, “Your Station 97.4 Stereo FM” commencing on Saturday 14th February at 10am! This program will be jointly managed by Four Wheel Drive Victoria and Telstat Transport Communications.

Your panel will be made up of Michael Coldham, Pete Dwyer and Ian Lacey. The format will be talkback with a limit of 5 minutes of commercial advertising in the hour and we will be talking about four wheel driving, clubs and club events.

We want your input. YOU ARE ENCOURAGED TO CALL IN! The talk back number is 9318 0444.

So join us on Saturday 14th as we celebrate our new show, and don’t be shy, ring up and join in! It’s your Four Wheel Drive Show!

Regards,
Brian Cox

Brilliant idea.
I wonder if they would be able to syndicate this show, via the Community Radio networks, to NSW. (Might be a little earner in this, Dave). I guess that is a Melbourne city number. May give them a call.
Thanks

Its been going for years! but 3ak has been bought out by a bunch of EX Footy players...

the bloke from TELSTAT is the one that has been runnin the show all these years, and was at our meeting the othe rnight.

I think this is correct, wasnt really listening to them at that stage of the meeting, but the figures for listeners per shift ( think it was shift) , were AMAZING.

Fishing show 4000
Something else 3000
4wd show 40,000+ listeners!

And 3ak got rid of the 4wders who were bringing in the most listeners!

Shows you how much 4wds are disliked, that show would have to have been the biggest money maker...

Hope this new show is more interesting than the previous one. I gave up listening to the AK show ages ago - for me there wasn't much 4wd discussion, just in jokes, who knows who, what a great bloke such and such is and really just one long advertisment for the sponsors.

Do you know why the 3AK show was cancelled?

The station went broke! And the license was bought out by Footy Players, dermy brereton, and his mates.

So you can bet the new direction of the Station!!

The Station & Buildings are still owned by 3AK they also own 3MP , and the licence has been leased to SEN for 3years

Might be alot different this time NOT to many advertisments Ive been told, some of the chit chat no worse than u get on this forum.

Lets all support it and the association

Cheers
