Gday,
That's a round about way of saying you reckon the people at BTC caravans are rude and arrogant.
If your going to infer that you should probably back it up with some sort of explanation, to be fair.

I purchased stuff there in 2010 and I don't recall the experience to be anything other than a normal process you go through in most stores. If they had been rude or arrogant I would have remembered.

we had several trips to BTC , about this time last year , in each case they had what we needed , and we were always dealt with in a cheerful and friendly way , and always came away with what we had gone there to buy , in contrast , the Jayco dealer told us in no uncertain terms what we could do with the problem that we had with our caravan , even though we had been told by another jayco dealer to see him about it .

Greetings,
I am currently staying in Virginia, just south of Darwin and have been into this shop several times to make purchases.
Not encountered any problems and service as I would expect.

The young lady behind the counter with the, for some, radical haircut and hair colours, knows her stuff.

The best shop in the top end for camper and caravan stuff as far as I know.

Cheers, Case

I agree with you Case.
I have been there a few times as well and always had no problems especially with the young lady you are talking about.
Gungadin on the other hand I have been in there and people have been pretty rude to the staff which would put them on the back foot for a while. Maybe you came in after one of these occasions. People complain about the price and yes some articles seem a bit dear but you can always get parts via the Internet. Don't forget nearly everything comes up here via the road network.

She is a bit of a living legend I think Case. I heard about the shop and her in Katherine. She is really smart with her knowledge, though her hair and tats aren't to my taste, she can lay her hands on what you are looking for very quickly.

As for the gungadin commentary, I didn't find them or her the least bit arrogant.

In regard to pricing, there is such a thing recognised as opportunity cost. You can buy it online and wait until it catches up with you, or buy on the opportunity. It is a time and place issue, Burnt Damper is quite right.

I bought some LED lights that may haven been more expensive than online, but I asked for the ones for the Dometic rangehood and the lady with the tats and hair didn't even need to consult the catalog or computer. She is a real asset in a service position.

I have also been there in the last few days, purchased a 12 volt fan and some Merritt plugs and found them to have a very good range of equipment as well as knowledgable staff. If you need something for your vehicle or van I would highly recommend them.

Miss Gabalot (Tanja) at BTC knows the products / specifications on the gear they sell , we where there 3 weeks ago with a particular 12v charging problem and they where very helpful even if they don't make "the sale"

I had a few visits there last year and found them extremely helpful! I even took one of their stickers for a convenient future reference.

Kind regards

G'day to all,
We have had just one experience with the business (July 2012) and were extremely positively impressed by the young lady, mentioned earlier. She is a wealth of information and was spot on with her solutions for 12VDC LED replacement of a failed incandescent globe set up. Well done Tanya! Should be more of you to help us oldies out!

Needed a part for my van on a recent trip at the top end. Went for a drive to find a place and was pleasantly surprised to come across this shop.It had a great range. I wish it was in Sydney. The staff were fine on my trip there.
