Hi all,

I know that a few years ago a bushfire destroyed the DEC campsite at Thomas River.

Has anyone any info about it's re opening, I have tried DEC website without much luck.

We have used the shire campsite a few times, but was wondering if the other one is now open.

Hi

The DEC website has all the information including a phone number and email for up to the minute info..

Thomas River Campsite

They normally indicate if it is closed or not ...so suspect its up and running.

There's a brand new national park campground on the side of the hill overlooking the river & ocean not far from the shire campground. Good facilities & plenty of room. We were there late last year & it had just been re-opened. Great place & quiet (outside of school holiday time).

Thanks for that, yes we toured the campsite just after the fire, and the side of the hill overlooking the river was devestated, good to hear it has re opened, will give it a try, thanks.
