If you head up the beach from Vrilya to the northern point there is camping under the trees and around in the inlet we caught crabs. But don't leave your pots out over night, the leather handbags like a feed of fresh caught crab too.

G'day Barnray, We have been to both twice. VP we had fantastic beach fishing the first time and drew and absolute blank the last time also without a boat.Cape Melville is really not so bad once you work out the soft sand. The last trip we did with trailers and boats and it is easily my favourite cape place. Have a look at my blog to suss out Cape Melville.

Kind regards
