Good morning folks:

I have a Motorola 9505A Satellite phone with a screen that is not displaying properly and therefore needs a repair. I am having difficulty locating anyone that fixes these things.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a good Sat Phone technician who can fix it for me?

I live in the Newcastle area, but will also post it if necessary.

My usual thanks in advance.

Try giving Motorola Australia a call.

Cheers

Jack I droped my old Telit Sat Ph a few years back and smashed the screen and snapped the stub aerial. Got a horendous quote from an agent to fix it (read $300 just to look at it). Ended up going to one of those small Asian phone repair kiosks you see in major shopping centres. Girl appologised that she couldn't fix it while I waited and come back in 30min. Couldn't wait so went back the next day to pick it up. Screen, new aerial, and charger plug pins all repaired and all up $78 from memory. Fantastic service.

LOL they are amazing.

I have a very expensive watch and the band broke. It fell apart occasionally but I could push it back together. I got a quote from the Australian distributor, $1200 and 4 - 6 weeks for a new band. Forget it, I'll live with it.

I was wearing it on a trip to HK and there was a guy on the street fixing watches. He said he could fix it in 30 mins. What the hell, but I was worried the guy would be gone when I got back so I stayed and waited.

20 mins later and about $15 Aud, it seemed to be better. 7 or 8 years later the band is still going strong.

Jack,
I wish I had our other computer here, as I had my 9505a screen repaired in Melbourne and can't remember the name of the people. They gave me a fixed price over the phone. I sent it down registered mail and they sent it back the same.

I got the companies name after a lot of trial and error talking to motorola. I kept going around in circles until I convinced someone that their shopping centre kiosks couldn't fix a sat phone. They then put me onto the firm.

Hello Jack,
I had my old 9500 repaired by a Queensland company called Skycomm.

Sent the phone to them, they repaired it and then sent it back.
