Hello to everyone , I have a question does anybody no anything about the old Albany campers I just bought a bushtracker in great condition and luv it. I think it was made in 1986 and all I no is they were made in Albany wa it has a under body water tank with a hand pump in the corner and on the A frame ACB 586 welded in which I would say stands for Albany camper bushtracker and it a cream in colour.
Thank You

I still have ours that about 550 older than yours and doesent have the water tank . Very well made with good canvas. Still looks good and had no problems.
From what I gather they were the first of the camper trailers. Others started when patent ran out or lapsed.

There not the same camper, I think he is a dealer only.
550 older that means I have years ahead of camping I found out that the bloke that was building them died around 1986 what letters do you have welded on the tow bar and I think they came in different styles eg; bushtraker/ urban and different lengths.

He actually went into bankruptcy because he was just building them on order in an engineering workshop and got to the number that meant he had to pay sales tax of 30%, backdated for years. Had no chance of paying as they were already sold without sales tax. He did nothing illegal until he made more than he was permitted in a year. A lot of engineering places got caught up in that taxation law as it was not clear at what point sales tax stepped in. The guy that bought the business employed the previous owner and concentrated on campers. I don't reckon he died in 1986 as it would have been after that I spoke with him.

That is how I remember the situation but it is a while ago.

I hadn,t seen them before a friend has got one and I looked for a good 10 months and got one in good condition a lot of paint is missing from under side will respray redoing spring bushes and there is a small crack half way along the bottom of the side door (vibration I think).
I was wondering if there was different models or types mine is longer than my mates and he has 4leaf springs and mine is 6leaf.
I love the K.I.S.S theory have you found any faults with yours

Never had any problems. Replaced top cover that deteriorated in the weather. Not too bad for 30 years. Ohh I replaced the tyres 2 years ago as they were getting pretty cracked. So much for 5 or 6 years from a tyre.
