Gday all

I am wondering if there was are different diff ratios on GQ utes between the coil cab model and the leaf spring models or was it an option people chose when they purchased the vehicle new? The one I test drove yesterday (1989) was showing 2600rpm at 110kph but my mates coil cab which is a 1993 does 110kph @ 2200rpm

both 31x10.5x15

I didnt think that would make any difference to what the speedo reads as it is running off the gearbox not the actual roadspeed. Wouldnt different tyre sizes just give you inaccurate speedo readings?

Yeh, good point. Must be different ratios, whether owner or manufacturer, dunno.

Zapper,
My GQ coil cab (1997) has the standard 4.111:1 diffs. I think the leaf spring models are 4.375:1. The Ti wagons and Maverick XL wagons are 3.900:1

From memory mine does about 2200-2300rpm@110km/h on 32x11.50x15 but it could all be in speedo readings too. Hope this helps

My Ti is 4.1 standard.

Its a mixed bag... there was 'No standard' for a while with Nissan :(

leaf models are designed for heavier weights and yea 4.3...
The 2.8's have the magic 4.6's... Mmmmmmmm get mine soon!

Ni idea what the diffs specs are but at 100km/h, my 1989 TD42 Maverick does 2200 rpm.

BTW, I have been told that there is a difference between the Nissan Patrol front diff housing and mounting to the Ford Maverick. Personally I find it VERY hard to believe.
