Hi Forum Family
One for all you leccy blokes. Given a battery in good nick how long do I let it settle after recharging before I check the voltage and what should that battery show as volts (a 12 Volt battey that is) and assuming nothing is hanging off it how long would it stay at these volts before needing a boost ?

I tend it leave it overnight and then check with a DMM. Fully charged starting battery usually reads about 12.8 volts. Gel cells usually read about 13.1 volts.

It should hold this voltage for months, but in a vehicle there's usually the odd parasitic device like the clock or radio.
