Travelled across in early June and it was a beautiful road,
well graded all the way to Harts range where it became corrugated until the sealed section. (This was heading west). It may not be so good now with the increase in tourist season traffic, we did the same trip Three years ago at this time of year and it had some very bad sections.

Hi , Traveling with plenty of highways is best aspect that you can assure that you have an en joyful joy ride. To have
plenty highway of the place you've travel can make
hazard for you to go with the place were you will go with, but if you have great idea for the place or you know the place I think it is advantage for, It is important that you have a map of the place so that you will not be lost.

On 27/28 June we travelled from
Boulia to Alice via the Donoghue and Plenty. It was Ok for us and our off road caravan at 80-90kph but for the motorhome doing 10kph all the way due to the corrugations it was a very long shortcut. It depends what you are driving and or towing how good or bad you think the road is. To generalise the Qld side to the border was much worse than the NT side. We talked on the CB to two vehicles eastbound towing caravans near Jervois and they were not impressed with the road at all and were dismayed with our
feedback that it was going to get worse.

Travellled it 2 weeks ago. It is in pretty good nick, the crushed
granite section just before
Tobermorey heading East is a bit hard on tyres , just keep the speed and tyre pressures down and you will be OK.
Tobermorey is a great place to
camp and there is also plenty of bush
camp sites along the road.
