HI,
We recently purchased our first Caravan. An oldie but a goodie.
Unfort when we got it back to the workshop we found the leaf
suspension was cracked. That was easy and cheap enough for Trev to replace. However, when taking the tyres off, the already cracking Wheel spats-
well spat it.
Online we can only find plastic spats - is this normal. Seems at $70 a pair we might be replacing these quite often.
Can you buy spats anywhere in something stronger than plastic?
THANKS
Ness & Trev

Do exactly what the caravan manufacturer did...make your own.
Plywood, glassfibre and marine epoxy can be incredibly strong and light.
You have the originals in more or less one piece for a pattern
cheers

You could also take a sample to a sheet metal manufacturer and get them to knock you up a set. The material can be thin and light and probably easier to have the attaching hardware fitted. If you are a bit on the handy side you could make them yourself.
