Hi guys, I've just picked up a new Altitude & was wondering if there's any way to upgrade the trip computer to include fuel consumption & klm left

Yep, Just buy a Scangauge II.
About $160 and plugs simply into the diagnostic port under the dash. The gauge is mounted with Velcro on the steering column or dash. As
well as all the fuel consumption stats I use it to measure coolant temp, transmission temp, voltage, air intake temp, boost, etc etc

Thanks Phil G I'll certainly look into that option. Do you know if there's any upgrade for the current to the existing computer to match the VX?

Steve,
I've not heard of anyone upgrading to the VX/Sahara dash. I doubt it would be feasible. Scangauge tells you a lot more info than you'd get anyway with a VX.
Ours is an Altitude as
well. Looks like they re-released it because it was popular.

You can do anything but it comes down to value for money and I don't think a dash upgrade would be cheap.
I haven't heard anyone doing it as yet, try the Lcool
forum under 200 series.

Not sure if it's as good as a scangauge but if you buy an obd2 blue tooth unit $12 on eBay and down load torque pro app to android phone . This will read and do many functions from the obd port info..
Will also read and reset all fault codes which can help diagnose problems.
Cheers
Mike
