Does anyone know of a supplier of gas strut shaft protectors? The type I am after is the concertina rubber tube type.
The reason is that I had to replace the struts on the camper after the shafts were sand/dirt blasted on the last Kimberly trip.
I used PVC tubes to protect the shafts on the new struts, but the small clearance between the strut body and the camper has resulted in the strut being popped off its ball, that is why I want the concertina tube type.
Thanks in advance.
Gaz.
Mmmmmmmm, now where do we go next?

If you can't find what your looking for straight away try a racing bike inner tube and some Zip ties.

Cheers.

I use the black hose that is sold as drain hose for washing machines during drought.

You can split the hose and place the split on the inside so that it opens up over the ball of the strut. The way to attach is just by some zip ties over the body of the strut.

I have had mine on for several years with no shaft damage on the struts on my camper trailer and no pushing off of the balls..

'The Rubber Store' for convoluted rubber boots. I just done a search and found them they might have what you need there in the USA
