A mate and I are planning a trip to Queen Victoria Springs in a few months time. We'll probably head out from Kalgoorlie via Kurnalpi, Old Pinjun and the Nippon Hwy and return via Cundelee and either the the Trans Access Road or the tracks running south and then SW from Zanthus down to Fraser Range Station on the Eyre Highway.

Does anybody have any recommendations on camping spots and "must see" places on either the outbound or return leg? What about the tracks heading south from Zanthus and SW down to Fraser Range Station? Is that reasonably doable? Is it more or less interesting than the Trans Access Road west from Coonana?

Heading S & SW from Zanthus to the Eyre Hwy might seem like a hell of a big detour but we've got to get back to the big smoke somehow and a trip along the Hyden Norseman Road might be an interesting alternative to the blacktop.

Any help with our planning would be appreciated.

Before pinjin theres a detour following an old telegraph line going past a couple of wells and hunts pinnacles

As for South of the transline. Lake boonderoo was a soectacular inland sea after cyclone bobby and alk the water flowed south via ponton creek into it.
Probabally near dry now but worth a look
