Bill Peach lost his battle with cancer today.
I for one enjoyed his "Peach's Australia" and "The Explorers" back in the 80's.

I have to agree with your comments Lyn W3. In a day when most TV outdoor lifestyle programmes are pretty much infomercials I long for a show like Peaches Australia. I adored it in my youth.
I never knew the man but he was a great host, had an obvious passion for the country and was spoken of in high esteem by everyone who wrote or reported about him.
Condolences to his family and friends

I missed that news, thanks for sharing Lyn. I certainly attribute much of my fascination and desire to explore outback Australia to the wonderful scenes he would show in his show - the aerial videotography is what I remember mostly. It's a different country now in many ways.
