Review: Kidson Track

My Place Rating: My Rating 5/5

things have changed and there are access agreements in place between the T/O and various mineral exploration companies. The road was graded down to and then along the Gwenneth Lakes Track 18 months ago by the legendary Ray Ronchi of Inland Services. From the Gwenneth Lakes turn down to Lake Auld and the Kidson/Telfer Road, it remains as it has been for years, the odd corrugation and a few washoutrs. Razor Blade Bore is inoperable as are all water points along the track so you cannot rely on finding water along the way.

You need permits to access and to do this you send an email to;

outlining your reason for wanting to travel the Wapet, the dates you would like to travel it and outline the details of your party (Vehicles, equipment, experience etc to strengthen your case for permission). I usually add a line absolving the Nyangumarta Warrarn Aboriginal Corporation from any liability etc that may arise from something happening to you on the track.
