Hi all,
We are heading from NT to QLD over the next week or two, just wondering if the nice camps like the river at
Camooweal still have water in them. We have been told the north west is in drought at the moment, and don't want to plan our stops at the areas that look beautiful in the
camp books if they are dry.
We are looking at
Camooweal - Isa -
Longreach and so on.
Cheers
Sam

Sam,
We were at
Camooweal 2 weeks ago. The country around there is in drought and looks bluudy awful.
Because we did not have a porta loo we stayed in a C'van park in Mt Isa and then to
Barkly Homestead Roadhouse (great little spot but $40 for a unpowered sight !!).
Camooweal was booked out because of the Drovers Stockcamp weekend.
Enjoy your trip. P&J

Sam, We were there about end of May. Very dry from about North of
Winton. There was still water at
Camooweal then but not a real lot. Was still a
great camp.
