Is there a particular reason why people lock their blogs ?
I like to read peoples blogs if they are travelling in an area that I am planning on in 2014.

David I asked the same question a few weeks back. Couple of reasons:

People are still writing the blog or are slowly adding the various attachment such as photos, which takes time.

Also some people only want a select few such as family and close friends to read their blog and a password will give them access.

If you look back through the blog index a number that were locke are now open. My last blog was an example as it was taking ages to put all the photos in and format it.

Hope that helps.

Cheers

I don't have a problem with people wanting private blogs - it's their choice.
What I would prefer is that they were on a separate page, rather than finding a whole string of locked blogs on the main blog page.
If, as you say, some are locked pending completion, then transfer them from the locked page to the open page when complete.

Andrew,

Good suggestion I will remove the locked blogs from the main index as I would hope that people who are locking their blogs will be pointing their friends at their profile page or at least their blog index page.

I will attend to this shortly.

On another point they should not be locked to allow update prior to publish - there is a hide/visible switch in the blog edit page where you can turn off/on the blog.

Done - this is now installed so locked blogs are only visible on their profile pages or their specific blog index.

Thanks

Excuse the picking of fly sh*t out of pepper. You may need to amend the wording on the front Blog page to something like "This page contains all the open blogs created by members. Locked blogs can be accessed via individual members ....."
