I'm looking at heading to
Big Bend on the Burdekin River (North of Charters Towers) in the September school holidays for some camping and
recreation. Can anyone tell me if there is any water there at the moment? I'm planning on a day trip from there to Red Falls (32 Km west along Flinders Hwy from Charters, then turn right and go 21 KM along Powlathanga Rockybar Rd - go past Fern Springs Rd, a couple of KM and then sharp right onto an un-named Rd before you hit Blois creek, travel another 1.6 km then sharp left and follow the road for 18 KM until you reach a 4 Ways - take track heading sort of straight ahead in a NNW direction. Follow that for another 5 to 7 km and you reach Lolworth Creek.) Appreciate if anyone can tell me if there is water in Lolworth at red falls , and of course at
Big Bend on the Burdekin. I drove to the camping reserve at Keelbottom last weekend, water level in the creek was low but water was healthy if not flowing.
