Gas struts for 2013 D MAX bonnet

HI there in wondering if any one has done or knows if gas struts can be installed on the bonnet of the current D MAX.I taking delivery of a LS_U auto space cab early Oct and when asked the sales person about this they looked at me like was stupid,and told me no one has ever asked that before.
