We are considering a drive through some of the tracks up in NW Tasmania soon. But according to reports and Government suggestions some like the Balfour and
Sandy Cape should or are not allowed to be done solo. As I am not into advertising when the houise may be empty I would like to receive some personal messages through this
forum from anyone who would be in the area and down to Straughan.
Maybe a meet and drive or even to let us tag along.
I don't always bite.
Phil

The Balfour Track is an 'interesting' but not impossible drive. Can't see a problem. Like everything
check recent & current weather.
Another nice little drive is
Montezuma Falls. !!
Ill be back for my 4th trip Feb to March 2014. Love the place (and I haven't grown two heads.....yet).

Whats the Ring Road track out near Montezuma like?
I understand about the Balfour not being too treacherous but just playing safe looking for company on it.
Thanks

yea..just back from the Falls the Ring
River Track goes North to join onto the Murchison Hwy.
If you can get hold of a book "4WD Tracks in Tasmania" by Chris Boden- it's
well worth it. All tracks with description and intermediate distances...
Check out www.roving.com.au
