Hi all, Does anyone know if the front output bearing on an '88 sahara t/case can be removed without splitting the t/case from the 5 speed. You can see, touch and play with the bearing after removing the front drive shaft and pinion, but the bearing won,t come out (yes the circlip was removed). The new bearing seems to slip on and off up to the old one easily. Tried a slied hammer to no evail. Any suggestions.Thanks.

Hi tour boy, unfortunately you will have to split the transfer front casing to remove the front output shaft (which is pressed into position) to get at the bearing. You will need to remove the output shaft & bearing & fit new bearing & output shaft with a suitable press & jig arrangement. Hope this helps. Cheers.Have Wheels Will Travel

Thanks for that, I was hoping that I wouldn't have to.
