Has anyone out there married up a duel reversing camera set to a VMS 700 unit that are not the proper VMS additional cameras. I'm wanting to know if it is possible to connect another brand of duel cameras to my VMS 700 unit. The VMS brand appear to be quite hefty in price compared to other brands of camera units that are available on the market. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Hi Brian
I connect my caravan camera which I initially bought from Safety Dave to my VMS.
It gives by far a clearer and larger picture of what is going on behind me than the original monitor.

Hi Kyle
Did the standard fitting that came with the camera you bought from safety dave just fit straight to the VMS700 without having to get adapters and have you only got the one camera working onthe VMS . What was the contact for safety dave i havnt heard of this site.

Not real sure where I got the connecting cable from but I think it came with the GPS, it is just a short adapting cable that must have been readily available. Not an expert in what the different plugs are called but when you see what is required it is quite simple.

What do you mean by dual cameras? One single video feed into the VMS from two cameras?

We run a non VMS (didn't know there was a VMS one) camera at the rear of the car and I can connect a second video feed from a video camera that I can mount any where on the car. Front, rear, roof or under the bull bar to watch the wheel action. I just select the second video input from the menu.

But I do not get two visions on the screen at the same time. Too small a screen for that.

HI Brian,
I am keen to follow this thread. I to have VMS gps but the touring 500 model. It also is capable of running 2 cameras (only one at a time, it is supposed to sense the furthest one & display that image I have been told by VMS) That of course is based on you using all they own dual camera kit which I agree is over priced. I am also looking for a way to run 2 off my VMS, I already have a 'safety dave' camera on the back of my van which was installed by the van manufacturer. At this stage I haven't been able to find a solution to this issue, so if some one here has already done it please don't be silent. Offer some advice to your fellow forumites....
thanks,
ChrisK
