Hmm...why would anybody expect an electrical item from place called "the reject shop" to be a quality item.
Power boards generally are pretty poor quality these days.....just plain flimsy.
Then you step from the $5 power board up to something costing $15 or $20...and this is justified by fitting a single MOV ( surge surpressor) worth about $1 small quaitity austraian wholesale.....the power board is the same POS it just costs 4 times the price for something that is cheap as chips and only marginally effective.
Then try and find a decent power board to buy.
The other week, I was working on a customer's video network....when we arrived the system was down..we checked...no power.
I watched and listened while my mate checked the breakers......that one?...nope...this one?..... nope.......This one BANG?...um yep I think that is the one.
left the breaker off and had a sniff arround......yep it was a power board that had blown up.....upon inspection it had got hot and the whole case was deformed......an overload you say...no it just had a few plug packs in it......it was just a piece of CARP.
The customer was lucky the breaker blew...the whole place could have burned.
Please don't buy ceap powr boards.
cheers
