Yes I am at last a member, though I have been on the site for a long time.

Now that I am here, I am getting a Waeco CXF65DZ Freezer/fridge tomorrow, so the question is do I need a separate connection to run it on the go, or will the outlet I have at the back be ok (I assume not) but before I give it at go I would like opinions.

Welcome to the Membership side of ExplorOz.

With regards to the fridge, the existing outlet will run the fridge but only when the vehicle is operating ie keys to acc.
If you need the fridge to run 24/7 it is advisable to hardwire a dedicated outlet for it to operate from and if only using the 1 battery to operate the fridge and start the vehicle it is also advisable to put a low voltage cutout device in place to avoid the fridge over discharging the battery.

That is good news, and I understand the fridge has a Low voltage cutout device, to avoid running the battery to low, but will make sure.

Rob,

I have my 32l Engel in the rear of my work Challenger and only use the standard plug. I usually only carry a few drinks and lunch so haven't bothered with running a hardwired plug as yet. I doubt I will have the vehicle long enough to warrant the need (already have 70k km on the clock in 12 months).
