Hi all,
Trying to find some nice
camping spots that we can take the dog. Not interested in the carvan
park scene, prefer to be away from the other campers and civilisation. The national parks around FNQ have great
camping spots but of course the dog is not welcome.
There is
camping on Bramston Beach (south of
Cairns) but thats about the only spot we've found so far. Haven't had much luck searching google/forums.

Hi, Brother reckons that
Granite Ck outside
Mareeba is pretty good. Caravan Pk setting in the bush. Dogs & campfires allowed. Swimming in the
creek. Generally nice according to him & he's hard to please. Bill

While I don't travel with a dog, I have used this blog in the past because it has good photos of some of the campsites:
Travelling with Dogs
I reckon you will find a lot of good info on it.

Morning all.
Having done the big one some years ago, and regular visitor to the cape and the gulf, which involves traveling from
Gladstone up the coast, I have always taken the furry ones with me. If your 4 legged friends are
well behaved and socially adjusted, there are many
places you can enjoy. Quiet often a little chat with a property owner or info centre will see you
camping in some very lovely spots. Depending where in FNQ you wish to go, will impact your plans. Archer point, south of
Cooktown is very nice, no restrictions. If you download wikicamps, it is fairly comprehensive and I've found it helpful. Enjoy your
camping with your little mates, they are also very good security if your anxious about your surroundings.
Drive safe.
Cheers Tony F8
