Please be patient with me guys this is my 1st post. I am about to purchase a 2nd hand KK. Most of what I read is positive. The trailer I am looking at is a 2006 platinum with add on kids room, full Bedouin annex, land cruiser 200 series rims & tyres. The price is 30k. Is the price on the mark?

John,

I know of a 2007 KK Platium with the following -

Extended tent.
Extended Tropical roof
1.8M Extended awning.
Stainless steel mounting for front awning poles.
Electronic Disk brakes
Stainless side storage box.
Large slimline front storage box.
Additional 12 volt outlets.
2 x 50 Watt BP solar panels, solar regulator, mounting and cover.
Ranox intelligent DC to DC battery booster/charger.
Extended Drawbar.
Procomp Black 16 inch steel wheels.
285 x 75 R16 Goodyear MTR Tyres (33”)

The seller is asking $39,500

Also Know of a 2005 Limited edition for $27k

So I would say $30k is fair

Cheers Kev

I guess I should have posted a follow up rather than a reply. I will get the hang of it with a few more posts!

Thanks Kev

I have only seen photos thus far but it looks in good condition. I will look it over tomorrow & if all is good it's on its first trip New Year's Day.

Hi John

Here are also a couple of links to Kimberley Kampers (Platinum) for sale so you can compare:

The spelling of the word "Platinum" is wrong in the top link - hence two links!

Cheers

I have a 2006 Platinum which I paid 26000 for last year. Lots of bells & whistles on it & in good nick but no Bedouin annexe but Kids room & full Large annexe & sidewall.
Unfortunately it had 6 stud wheels & I wanted 5 stud whence the lower offer which was accepted
Hope this helps

Thanks Ross

Judging by the market today it looks like you got a very good deal. Are you pleased with the Kimberley? I am just about to leave for a look at the trailer so all questions will be answered soon. All going well I should be enjoying a couple of cold ones somewhere in the bush this evening. Enjoy your New Year.

I think I got a reasonable deal.
I had previously bought a 2005 Classic pre gullwing for $23500 but unfortunately it was writtern off when a young hoon driving in the opposite direction couldn't make a bend.
V happy with Kimberley generally.
Previous to this I had an Ultimate which was good for it's time as well.
My only suggestion is to pay particular attention to the canvas before purchase.
Any weakness there will be expensive & will tell a story about the Kamper & its previous use or misuse.
Happy Kamping
