I have been thinking of upgrading a more durable tyre for gravel roads etc Has any one got any idea as to what I should use. We
camp off road a bit on
well maintained gravelled roads but would feel better if the tyres were a bit more robust with a few stones here and there. johno

Any of the
well known AT type tyres that are of light truck (LT) construction will be suitable. Most respondents will recommend what they have fitted - but anything such as BFG ATs, Cooper ST Max, Mickey Thompson ATs etc or their equivalents will all be suitable - it really comes down to personal preference.

They certainly look unusual. They look good, but I wonder if they are strong enough for a real hammering. To me it looks like the flat disc shape might warp too easily.

G'day johno59,
Get an All Terrain tyre with a light truck rating.
There are a number of reputable brands.
Be prepared to pay from $250 a tyre up, most likely $320+ will be a realistic amount to allow, depending on where you live..
Stay away from the cheaper tyres, they will not be good value for money.
