It's a good spot isn't it! The run up from Tom Groggin is particularly fun. And good to see the Hippo going where people will say it shouldn't. The wife has an FL1 with the TD4 BMW donk and it's surprisingly good off-road despite the lack of low range and low clearance.

Yes I'm very happy I did it. Never thought of the Landie as a "Hippo" :-). Tonight after a bottle of Chris Ringland Shiraz I saw it with different eyes - must agree, it looks a bit like a "hippo" in a cute kind of way.

Great report Vesko. Had a few "moments" in those hills myself. The missus' favourite terrain - not. She always thinks she's just breathed her last every time another hill looms. Those hills never look as steep in the pics like they do in reality do they? You could've told us more about your "special friendship" with the female visitors though.

Vesko

thanks for a great read.

I know what you mean about some of those steep hills, especially when it gets a bit muddy.

It must have been driver error that got the Disco stuck :-)

No it was the massive storm on the evening before. He got hit by a torrent of water that literally washed him sideways off the track. The picture doesn't do justice to the predicament he ended up in.
