Hi, I am looking at getting the Memory Map version of EOTOPO. How will MM users be notified of updates/changes given that the purchase is via the MM store? Thanks, Kevin

All updates that are for the production product will be documented in the ExplorOz newsletter at the very minimum. I am yet to find out from Memory-Map directly however we have been communicating a lot and I have been assured that the upgrade model is not a problem. Memory-Map also have all the names and emails of all users that have purchased EOTopo and this may also be able to be used to notify users of updates. I will have to discuss this with Memory-Map however if you register for the ExplorOz Newsletter you will certainly know when the releases have come out and are available.

Once I have a policy for Memory-Map I will make sure it is documented however rest assured that the upgrade model is part of the Memory-Map release and we will be providing upgrades for this platform.

Hi Kevin,
As David mentioned you will be kept informed via ExplorOz. Memory Map have advised me they will be updating the 200k map as well as providing the 1M when they get details.

Cheers,

That's interesting. I too purchased EO Topo from Memory Map but I don't recall any information from them on upgrades. How long ago did you receive the information from them, Pete?
Cheers, Kevin

Hi Kevin,

I sent them an email about a week ago and that was their reply.

What price did everyone pay? I received a email from Memory Map in Dec with the following prices

Pricing is a modest $99 for the PC and Mobile licence, $59 for the Mobile only licence and $69 for the PC only licence.

When I go to Memory Map web page it wants to charge me $59.99USD for mobile only license, which at today's exchange rate is about $67

Thank Kevin

Thanks Pete. That makes sense. I had received a news letter from them a few weeks ago and wondered if there had been another one that I had missed.
I paid US 59.00 for the two device licence as I don't want it on my PC. My guess is that new maps will replace old in their system and when you download the newest map will be used. That will mean that I will need to download map areas I am using if there is an upgrade and I want the latest. That's just my guess, of course.
Cheers,

Guys,
I can answer that last bit - when we produce a new EOTopo on Memory-Map there will be a new qct and qct3 file- So you will have to activate the new map and it will then start streaming. You could then keep the old and new if you so desired but you will have to download the updated map as a new item and activate it. The activation will be free provided you already have the previous one.
