I have a job to do down the
Birdsville Track later in the year and it will save time and load requirements if I don't have to cart camping gear ect. Question is has anyone ever stayed at the
Mungerannie hotel, if so how was it, and what facilities are there in the rooms, and if not how far to walk in the middle of night. At this stage only a thought but any replies will be appreciated
Regards
Ian

Camped there - great place for a feed and
the lagoon is speccy.
Can't speak of the accommodation, however Phil takes a great deal of pride in the pub, and I would suspect the accomm is the same. If my memory is correct there is separate accommodation next to the pub.
Best thing is to give them a call.

Spent a few nights there about 8 or 10 years ago, while attending a catchment meeting.
Room was very comfortable and clean, but as I recall, we had to wander over to the toilets/showers.
Note their website says they have some ensuite rooms available. Probably first in, best dressed?
If you're hungry make sure you get a "Burger with the Lot". 300mm high, and a real banquet.....definitely not takeaway! We later tried normal burgers, and with sour dough buns........
well we nearly turned around and went back for more.
Bob.

I haven't stayed there, but I sure agree about those burgers. The best burger I have had in Oz.

Last time I stayed was about 3 years ago. Same thoughts as Bob Y.
Room clean but just dated and walk to the gents or ladies. Tucker good and beer cold. Can't get better than that.
Have a good trip

Hi Ian
We have stayed there in one of the ensuite rooms, clean and comfy, would be a good idea to book, the meals are great and the service even better.

Hi Ian. We stayed in an ensuite room last
Easter. It was fine but no kettle so take your own. The pub food is great but be strong as the publican will keep you drinking until the early hours if you let him.
