Interesting article, it seems the venerable 70 Series may indeed live on!

There’s still a mighty big market out there for a tough hands-on 4WD.
Not everyone wants a push button SUV that’s built like a sedan.
I’d bet Toyota won’t dump it.

There was a rumour the next generation Toyota Tundra would be available in RHD and with a diesel, maybe they will tie the two in?

I'm by no means sure of my facts, but isn't that just a giant hua of a 2WD thing in for the yank market?

I always thought the Tundra was developed to compete directly with the F series / large pickup market that's so big in the states.
A market not so well developed here in Aus.

Looks like the big effie has turned to crap too, now going to be a tiny 2.7l td, wonder how the yanks will handle that!

Yeah Rosco and John it is a "full size truck" competitor to the Effie and th GM and Dodge ones. Has 4x4 but no diesel either. And that new F150 with aluminium body and 2.7 Ecoboost V6 might be a folly but Effie buyers in the US seem to have warmed to the 3.5 ecoboost V6 - they outsell the V8 versions now.
