Hi, we're heading to Alice early April - can anyone recommend camel ride operators? I'm finding it difficult to find very much information online. Cheers.

Hi silverroo
JD & I spent two months volunteering at the Road Transport Hall of Fame and Old Ghan Museum and there are camel rides available there. If you go to the tea rooms at the Old Ghan Museum, just ask Dallas or whoever is working that day for the phone number of the owner of the camels. You can then book a ride and meet him there.
JD and a group of other volunteers did a sunset ride and would recommend it.
Cheers
Jules

Thanks Jules - is there no need to book in advance? The one operator I have been able to speak with tells me I need to be booking soon (for April)?

Just to be sure, you could phone the Road Transport Hall of Fame on 08 89527161 and ask them for the phone number for the camel rides and book ahead if necessary. Hope you enjoy your trip to the Alice.
